Over fifteen million Americans have online gambling services. When the US law changed about the payment of winning changed, many of the companies decided to change the way the payments were processed. Instead of listing them as winnings, the companies would disguise the products as sales of flowers, golf balls or other items that would not attract the attention of the authorities.

Full Tilt Poker’s website registered news of the change fairly quickly. The website went from hundreds of users playing the game for real world earnings to zero players playing the game for cash. The decision of the UK-based gaming c omission to shut down the website comes on the heels of an attempt to collect $3 billion dollars. Department of justice officials allege that the companies who disguise the transactions as sales of different products are breaking US law in the matter. The US and Great Britain may still look down on online gambling, but other countries have embraced it. Countries that allow online gambling have seen the revenues to their amounts in their treasury’s coffers increase.
